Homework Challenge Update

The Idea I chose was a flower vase, I am currently making flowers out of milk bottles. I’m only ¼ finished because I need to paint and put them in the vase or on the side. The challenging part that I overcomed was putting the brown and green strip through the middle of the flower because of how thick it was. I have made 7 flowers and I'm trying to make about 11-14 of them. This project has been fun!

 

Learning in the making Conference Blog Post

Last Friday on the 14th of October was a Learning in the making Conference for the third time.

Mark Osborne was our keynote speaker and he talked about us that we could have lots of crazy jobs like having a farm on top of the buildings!

We had four workshop’s to go to, my first one was Aerobics what we did there was dance moves and songs we learned the song Sorry from Justin bieber and the host of Aerobics she has been to a special person who was dancing in the song and they taught our host the moves.

The second workshop was Funky decoration, Mrs Rite had lots of decorations and we had three choices and the three was a Beast, Flower pot or pencil holders. Apparently no one chose the pencil holder and that was funny and I chose Beast and my beast had colorful ears blue + purple and the legs were green + red patterns it also had a mustache.  

Third is God’s Eye, Mrs Murray taught us how to do it and told us that she will only say it once, so we listened carefully. We first have 2 wooden straight sticks and make it into a cross then tie a knot in the middle, after you put the wool around and looping them then if you're ready to change color you cut the string and tie a knot. Mrs Murray also told us what God’s eye mean, It is a cross which people use to use for protecting them. It also makes you able to see clearly.

And lastly Maths Quiz Liam and Michelle gave us questions that some of them they couldn't answer. We did Minus, Plus, Times and Divide By. With thousand and hundreds, we had about maybe 20 - 30 questions.  The first one to finish was Kellee then me, Noah and lastly Cherish.

My favourite workshop was Maths Quiz because it was fun and because Maths was one of my favourite subject, one thing was because I won the maths quiz and came 1st woo!

I learned that even if things are hard for you, you could always ask people and not just stand there, people can also help you.

Always be nice to the teachers after they have taught you or let you participate.

I learned new skills such as looping around the cross for God’s Eye and it doesn't matter who wins you still get things.

My Holiday Reccount 2016

In the Holiday’s we did lots of things because we had my cousin Felix and Jade they were my best cousin’s so we normally hang out mostly.

Alright so back to the Holiday recount, So they came on Wednesday on the first week of the holidays and we pretty much played on the laptop as usual but we also played outside.

Apparently one time we had to look after the baby and it was hard then days went past and my cousin Jade had to leave to go home. So it was me and my cousin Felix, we were looking after him until his mother came back from the airplane flight from Vietnam to New zealand.

We went on a buying spree in the shopping mall’s in Auckland Botany, we bought games and pokemon cards to play against each other and plushies too, also we bought lots of clothes for my baby sister and we had afternoon tea at a Thai Restaurant.

It was dinner and we went home, we enjoyed my father's cooking, my cousin Felix said it was very nice.

We watched Anime after dinner and went to sleep, we couldn’t sleep because my baby sister cried a lot so we went outside to sleep, that was funny because we went outside and left my mom with the baby.

She was so frustrated, the next day Felix had to go in the afternoon so I got bored and sad but we called on skype and I told him I missed him so much he did too.

That’s the end of the Holidays I did wait also we ordered Spaghetti and Toast or Toast and Jam nearly everyday, wow unhealthy.

New Zealand Flag Debate

 New Zealand Flag

Which flag Design did I support and why??	I chose the Old flag because I think that the Australian people copied our flag, the stars represent us and people who support New Zealand, it is surrounded with sea so it fits the blue. So I support the Old Flag.
What are your three opinions about the flag debate?	I think it is bad that they spend so much money for just a New Flag. I don't think changing the flag is going to change anything in New Zealand Instead of spending all the money on the flag they should spend it on Christchurch to fix the houses and all of the important broken stuff.
How did you feel when the result was announced	I felt happy because I heard that the Old flag was still our flag for New Zealand and so I was very glad that we got to keep it and so I will live on supporting New Zealand.

Why we have Easter Day?

We have Easter day because it is a big day for Christians because they believe Jesus Christ is revived on Sunday it is a Holiday for other people.We do fun activities on Easter like Easter egg hunt. Churches hold a special day on Monday because it is a public holiday for Government offices and Business people so they would be closed on Easter Monday.

Why do we have Good Friday?

Because it is a holiday for Christians because of Jesus Christ has been Crucified on a cross. Christians have been putting him in a tomb (Small Cave). Many people believe Jesus has been sacrificed for other sins.

Why do we have Easter Sunday?

We have Easter Sunday because many people think that Jesus Christ has been risen from the dead. To show proof Christians had put him in a tomb and after 3 days the Christians checked the tomb and Jesus Christ wasn't there.

Why do we have Hot cross buns?

We have Hot cross buns because the cross is a symbol of the Hot cross buns so that would remind people of Jesus Christ. Because Jesus Christ crucified himself and so Hot cross buns is the only way for people to remember Jesus Christ

Why do we have Easter Eggs?

We have Easter eggs because Jesus christ has died on a cross and so we have Easter eggs because it is to show Jesus christ has done a miracle for crucifying himself to cause a Miracle to win over the darkness of other people

What Tradition we have on Easter?

On Easter we got to meet our cousins and have sleep overs. Sometimes we play Easter Egg Hunt and eat Easter eggs for Breakfast. We love to play on our laptops and watch funny Videos about Easter bunny. We sometimes have BBQ together. We always like to go outside and play on the trampoline and Bicycle.

My name is Leon and I was born in Middlemore hospital near Auckland. I have moved to Drury to live there for 4 Years then I have moved to Ngatea, I am 10 and I was born on 1st of February 2006.

My dream is to go to Japan one day and explore the food and candies,  My favorite food is toast and jam.

When I grow up I want to be a youtuber. I met my best friends at school, they were Josh, Jonty and Oliver Mitchell . My favorite thing to do is read and do art. I like the Season Winter and making stories on winter. My nickname is Lele and My full name is Leonardo. I like to read all the time. I will have a baby sister soon and I do chores for my Mom at home or the cafe sometimes. I like to go to the pools sometimes in summer and It refreshes my mind.

My favorite subject at school is Maths, time tables is my favorite, I like to work out my maths with Algebra. My goal Is to have good grades for myself, that is what my Mom thinks is best. My favorite thing is Learning and Watching Movies.  My favorite teacher is Mrs. Lindsay and Mrs. B

Swimming Sports Day 2016!

On Wednesday all of Ngatea Primary School participated in Swimming sports day. We went to the public swimming pool near our school to swim in different races.

I participated in one length non champ backstroke, freestyle non champ and Breaststroke give it a try.
But there were butterfly but I didn't do it.

I came second in backstroke non champ, freestyle I came Third and Breaststroke I didn't know what I came. But before I started Breaststroke I was scared because I didn't know how to do it, then my friend taught me before I started my race. Some people were doggy paddling and doing freestyle, so I was confused. But I still did the right thing, I didn't care if they didn't do breaststroke, I just carried on and did breaststroke correctly. Before we did all of my rounds, our team cheered our team mates with our chant.

We got to drink a juicy because some of us ordered it. It was $1.00 each for one but I bought two. Then my father started coming, giving me some food to eat, like burger and drink's. After that we went back to class.
